Retirement Plan?...Anyone? Ohhh baby.

Do you see these happy faces to your right? ... Well in just a few more days you might be seeing more of them...Because this semester is almost over! Today I finished my economics final, asian american final, my retirement plan project, and my 9 page paper on childhood obesity. Happy Thanksgiving. (go utes).

Since Thanksgiving is tomorrow, I thought I would name a few things I'm thankful for...

I am so so thankful for my awesome husband. I've never been happier than I am right now. I'm thankful for my family, especially my parents who still do so much for me. I'm so grateful for the book of mormon and the church...and I'm thankful for my sweet job. I'm thankful for toasted cinammon raisen bread in the morning, the back window defroster button in my car, a good non-sticky lip gloss, my dishwasher, pilot pens, talk radio, DVR, my computer, and my health. Those are just a few of the many many things that make my life so sweet.

There are also a few things I am not so thankful for...but because of the holiday I am trying to change and learn to appreciate them regardless of my current attitude towards them. These things are: drivers who cut me off and then flip me off, the electoral college, and pilot pens that stop working. That's it. And this was the last time I'll complain about them. Because it's almost Thanksgiving!!! And I've got a whole lot to be thankful for (see above).

Heidi tagged me...Here goes.

1. I have quite the knack for tracking down celebrities. In fact, I've got a growing list of sitings/and or limited interactions with a number of them. My crowning moment, however, was my slightly embarassing/awkward interaction with Keanu Reeves. I ran across Main Street in Park City to catch him to get his autograph. The only pen I had was gross and chewed on. It barely even worked. I kept apologizing over and over again for the crappy pen. Keanu then looked in my eyes (in a way that only Neo can), and said very slowly in the only tone of voice that he possesses, "Your pen is fine." That was it.

2. I love to sit. Probably more than anyone I know. The best part of the day consists of those moments spent sitting on the couch after I get home. Priceless. And a little pathetic.

3. I spilled chocolate milk on myself twice in one week in 3rd grade. Both times it looked like I had an accident. Thanks dad, for bringing me a change of pants both times! I have since learned to better hold my beverages.

4. The only time I have ever cheated was in 1st grade. It was a spelling test, and the word was glue. Now this was a particularly tricky word at the time, so I glanced at a bottle of glue for a little help. What seven year old wouldn't, right?! I confessed to my mom when I brought the test home.  And just so you know I really haven't cheated since. And I can now proudly spell the word glue.

5. I love movies and I have the evidence to prove it! I have kept almost every movie ticket stub since the 4th grade. And just so you know, I've seen a lot of movies. A lot a lot. To name just a few, I saw Titanic three times, Ocean's Eleven five times, and Dreamgirls one unfortunate time. And that is just the tip of a very very large iceberg. No pun intended.

6. I sleeptalk/walk way too often. My most recent outburts have included ripping up math notes and throwing them all over my room (my poor roommate at the time...), yelling out that I couldn't find the forces (I was a little stressed about my statics class), and putting my legs in the air while telling a person that didn't exist to get off of me...(that last one occurred while sharing a hotel room with my in-laws). But don't worry...Taylor knew what he was getting himself into before he married me.

Nothing beats Taylor with a bow tie and a part in his hair...

A couple weeks ago we went a murder mystery dinner. Best idea ever! Taylor and I got to dress up a bit (we were the mom and dad of a very very dysfunctional family), and plot against each other. It was a pretty sweet night. Plus, I got to see Taylor's hair parted...and there isn't anything better than that.  We really want to do one again...and I'm pretty sure our family could pull off a pretty ridiculous evening together.

The Metcalfs welcome you to their sweet blog...

So this is my first blog post...nothing too exciting. Or spectacular. And to be honest, I don't have much to say. But this one's for you Heidi and Aly... I hope you enjoy it.  I thought I'd post a sweet pic of me and Taylor on our wedding day--just a few short months ago (nice picture, dad!).  This is just one post of many to come. But don't think mine will ever be too exciting. I'm not witty, and I don't have children.  And neither of those two things are changing anytime soon!
