White Coat Ceremony

Taylor's White Coat Ceremony was last week, so he is now officially a student dentist...

His parents came down to visit for it the weekend before. We LOVED having them here.  Seriously though...I looked forward to it all week and was sad to see them go. We didn't have much planned for them while they were here, but we ate a lot of food and loved their company. We dined at T.C. Eggington's, Postino, P.F. Changs, Grimaldi's...oh man, it was some good food.  There may not be much to do here in Arizona in the heat, but I sure don't mind a good air conditioned restaurant.

I'm currently an admissions counselor/recruiter at Taylor's school (exactly what I thought I'd be doing as an engineer who just graduated, right?), so I was working all day to prep for the ceremonies. It was fun to see him walk across the stage to get his coat. I felt so proud of him...getting into dental school is a ridiculous amount of work.  I also got a little sad, though...I felt like I was kind of saying goodbye to him for the next four years! Not really, but it will be different with him constantly studying and with me no longer studying (I sense school withdrawals kicking in already...)

On our way to the welcome reception...

First day of school picture (yep, just like kindergarten)...

Me and my dentist-man...

It was a great few days with the Metcalfs and a nice break before Taylor's school started.  I know he's really excited to be busy again; I think all the free time was driving him crazy (personally, I think that's crazy--I LOVE my free time). I also feel pretty lucky to be working at his school.  Although it really isn't where I pictured myself after working my butt off to be an engineer...I'm glad to have a job that I like and I really like the people I work with.

So just in case you forgot...you're all invited to come visit us too! (seriously.)

Liz- of course I remember you! You were really cool and plus I've blogged stalked you a fair bit. So I definitely know who you are.

So you're an engineer and your husband is going to be a dentist? Pretty impressive!
