A few of my sleepwalking moments:
Waking up my friends' parents by going into their bedroom in the middle of the night at a sleepover
Peeing in the laundry room (yep.)
Ripping up notes/homework
Going through my dresser and putting on clothes
Kneeling at the edge of the bed while I thought I was driving
Jumping and trying to reach the ceiling fan
Yelling at someone to get off of me (no one was there, of course)
There honestly are more ridiculous things. I just don't want you to think I'm completely crazy (I apologize for the one about me peeing in the laundry room).
My worst sleepwalking was a couple of weeks ago on our anniversary. We had seen Inception the night before (so good...but could have contributed to the confusing night), and had seen a RIDICULOUSLY HUGE spider in our garage before going to bed. Anyway, I woke up at the top of our stairs (our bedroom is downstairs) with Taylor shaking me, telling me to wake up and calm down. (Of course, this is the weekend Taylor's parents are staying with us, so they probably think their daughter-in-law is insane.) He said I had suddenly bolted out of bed freaking out and raced up the stairs. He ran after to try to stop me, but didn't catch me until we got to the family room area upstairs. After he woke me up, we headed back to bed and my foot was hurting like crazy--I could hardly walk on it. I figured that I must have run into something while on my rampage. While Taylor went to get some ice for my foot, I noticed my shoulder was bleeding! I'm now thinking that I probably ran into the doorframe on my way out of the room...this is confirmed with the fact that my left hip/thigh was bruised as well.
I felt so bad for Taylor! I think I seriously freaked him out. I freaked out again later that night asking if the bugs were gone, so we're assuming I was running from some spiders or something. Plus, Taylor chasing after me probably fueled my fear.
So now it's 2 1/2 weeks later, and I still can't put much weight on the ball of my left foot. I'm assuming I broke a bone in there, but who knows. All the bruising is gone, but I still can't wear any of my shoes except for flip flops or flat sandals and I'm still walking a bit strangely.
So overall, it was quite an anniversary night for us. (And I'm sure a great reminder to Taylor of just how lucky he is to be stuck with me forever). I've been working on keeping the sleeprunning to a minimum since.
To end this post on a more uplifting note...here are some pictures of the two of us on our wedding day three years ago. I feel so lucky to be married to this guy.
At least I didn't sleepwalk/run on our honeymoon, right?
