Puff the Magic Dragon

With Taylor constantly studying (CONSTANTLY), I'm always looking for things to occupy my time. I can only blogstalk and watch episodes of Gilmore Girls for so long...

I found a blog that I love love love. It's called Make It and Love It She always has the coolest projects and giveaways.  One project that she highlighted was a puff quilt made by another blogger. There's a detailed step-by-step process on how to make one of your own, so I thought I'd give it a try.  Luckily, my sister Heidi's having a baby boy this March--giving me an actual reason to make one.

Here's my finished product:

I should have ironed it again after man-handling it during hand stitching...

Anyway, I love how it turned out and can't wait to make another one.  I worked on it most nights and weekends for about three weeks, so it went pretty fast.  Her directions were really easy to follow.  I did get the walking foot for my machine, which was a huge life saver.  It made it so much easier to work with so many layers, so I highly recommend it.

Here's the link to the blog: Honeybear Lane.

This is a new one from her blog, and I think I'm going to do one like it next:

Liz,

Here I am, blog stocking. I too have turned to making quilts as a post-graduation hobby; who knew, right? I'm on my first one but it's taking way longer than three weeks. Love how yours turned out, and I love that zig zag one, I'm planning on doing one of those soon too.
